Røros municipality

Røros is the regional centre, with its unique old town of listed wooden buildings, which in 1981 was placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Røros is a flourishing community, and in the midst of this world heritage site you will find an exciting arts and crafts environment, many small shops and several craft workshops. The mining history of Røros is well documented by the slag heaps at Slegghaugan, the mine Olavsgruva and the Røros Museum.

A kick-sled is a good, efficient means of transport in Røros. Additionally, it is fun both to ‘trundle along’ and to sit on. The local inhabitants use a kick-sled on a daily basis during the wintertime. Hire from Røros Tourist Office.
