A romantic weekend in Røros

Romance in Røros

Few places in middle-Norway are as lovely as Røros. Experience this World Heritage site and it’s small, wooden houses, narrow streets and the many places to dine. Add a trip with a sleigh, spa and shopping and you have everything you need for a romantic weekend. 

Take a trip with a sleigh - share the warmth 

There are few things as romantic as a trip with a horse-drawn sleigh. When darkness has fallen and the air is crisp, all you have to do is slide under some furs, while your sleigh travels the snowy streets. 

Dogsledding with your loved one beside you 

There are few things more fun than dogsledding! Enjoy the whole experience, from harnessing the dogs to piloting the sled with your loved one next to you as you travel the countryside. 

 

Kicksled - side by side trough the streets of Røros 

Rent a kicksled, this most typical of Norwegian modes of transportation, and discover the narrow and intertwined streets of Røros. Go to the museum, or have a warm drink at Kaffestuggu.  The kicksleds can also be used for shopping, with space for your bags. Maybe a skiing-trip awaits you around the next corner? 

Just outside the center of town you’ll find many prepared tracks for skiing. While nature takes care of the weather, you only need to bring some hot cocoa, and a bite to eat to make this the perfect prelude to a romantic dinner later on. 

Enjoy the local food in Røros 

There is no underestimating the importance of good food. In Røros you can find slowfood, local ales and rest in the knowledge that meat, vegetables and fish are locally produced and served in the most tasteful ways.
