You are here: See and do > Dog sledding > Dog sledding Røros
Dog sledding is a popular sport and activity in Norway, and the Røros region offers excellent facilities for it. This sport requires both physical and mental skills. Participants must be in good physical condition and capable of handling their dogs professionally. It also demands significant commitment and time to train the dogs and prepare for races.
Imagine the fresh mountain air against your face as you race across Rørosvidda behind your own sled or wagon. The Røros region is a popular area for dog sledding, offering everything from three-hour trips to a whole week in the mountains. Available in summer, autumn, and winter, the dogs are friendly, highly trained racing dogs. You'll experience the synergy between humans and animals and the joy the dogs have in running to their fullest.
Kennel Dølanvollen, about 10 minutes north of Røros center, offers a comprehensive experience where you get close to both dogs and nature. If you wish, you can help prepare the dogs before the ride. You can drive your own team or ride along.
Located about 15 minutes south of Tynset, Eywas Trails offers dog sledding all year round. They adapt to the customer's needs, providing a unique nature experience. Run by very experienced dog sledders, if you are over 12 years old, you can also try driving the sled.
In Tufsingdalen, Stein Håvard and Siri live with their 40 Alaska huskies at Fjestad Husky. For a unique day experience, they invite you into their home and life.
