Winter is a fantastic time here - full of events – from the cosy, authentic atmosphere of the Christmas market, the earthy festivities of Røros Winter Market (Rørosmartnan) to the wonderful classical music festival (Vinterfestspill i Bergstaden) offering concerts and meetings with national and international artists. In summer, you can attend Norway’s second largest outdoor musical theatre, Elden, from the heart of the world heritage site. Or there’s the little gem, Opera di Setra, way out in the sticks, at Svarthammerlia. Yes, it really is an opera, spectacular and unique.
