In the Røros region we have over 50 miles of prepared ski tracks. That in itself can lure many out. Here you get an overview of all the ski slopes in the region.
ALVDAL
At Alvdal, the family can go skiing to Østkjølen, which is located under Tron. The leader of the hiking association, Johan Ragnar Eggen, says that Allmannsstua is open, for those who want to warm themselves inside. If you want to go hiking, Eggen can recommend a trip to Kvitvola, starting at Langsetra in Haustdalen.

OS
If it is the family who is going out for a skitrip, it is nice to ski the prepared trails from Nansenhytta in Dalsbygda or from Østvangen and to Sætersjøen on Os. Here the trail network is connected and you can therefore extend the trip from Østvangen to Sætersjøen to Nansenhytta – if you feel like it. Another option is to start at Skistuggu in Røros and walk over the mountain to Høsenfjellhytta in Os.

Røros
In Røros we have received nice hiking recommendations from the general manager of Sport 1, Trond Morten Gløtheim. Stikkildalsrunden is a favorite, since there is a large trail network where you both have the opportunity to shorten and extend – and still go for a round. You can start at Røros Hotel, Sjøbakken or the parking lot at Småsetran. Then you can either take the short temperance round, or you can take the slightly longer Skåkås round, or the even slightly longer Stikkildal round. If you feel that you have more strength inside, you can take off towards Enarsvola and go the Erlidal round. Or you can go to Storwartz.

Tolga
The head of Tolga Idrettslag, Knut Sagbakken, can tell us that a good starting point for hiking is Skihytta in Vingelen and then go from there. Klettrunden is a very pleasant family trip, and there Kletthytta is open for dining. You can either drive to Pauran on the west side of Tolga, or you can drive up to Kletthytta and have it as a starting point. If you are going up on a mountain top, it is the south side of Hummelfjellet that counts. Drive to Hodalen and walk from here. It is both an easier trip than the trip from Os-sida, and then you have more sun. If it is cold in the center of Tolga, it is often milder in the altitude, so this is a nice trip also if the cold temperatures creep down on the scale.
