Forollhogna contains mountains and gently sloping valleys. Forollhogna is often referred to as “The Kind Mountains”.
Forollhogna is situated on the border to the Forollhogna National Park. The view from the summit is definitely something to remember. If you’re lucky, you might even glimpse wild reindeer. The trail to the foot of the mountain is relatively easy, with a continuous view of the pyramid-shaped summit.
The national park starts at 500 meters above sea level, with its summit visible for miles around as it reaches 1332 m.a.s.l.
Norway’s mot productive herd of reindeer calls this place their home, with their bucks being famous for their impressive antlers.
The national park contains a wide selection of cultural heritage sites, having been farmed and used as hunting grounds by people for thousands of years.
All around, you’ll see valleys with up to a 100 mountain farms are still active, especially in Midtre Gauldal, Os and Tolga. Several offer activity-based tourism, for instance reindeer safari, fishing, mountain climbing, horseback riding and dogsledding.
