Children on the Run, Children in Fear – An Exhibition About Betrayal

About

50 million children are currently displaced worldwide.
The photo exhibition “Children on the Run, Children in Fear – an Exhibition About Betrayal” presents Knut Bry’s encounters with children in and around the refugee camps on the Greek island of Lesvos.

The acclaimed and award-winning fashion photographer has devoted his later years to solidarity work on the island, until he was arrested in 2022 by Greek authorities and accused of espionage.

The images, accompanied by text, document how children are affected both short- and long-term, and tell individual stories that offer insight into children’s daily lives in a precarious state of waiting.
The text is written by child psychologist and aid worker Katrin Glatz Brubakk and journalist Guro Kulset Merakerås, who together authored the book Moria: Inside Europe’s Largest Refugee Camp.
