Haugen Gård

About

Welcome to Haugen, a historic mountain farm with roots dating back to the operations of Røros Copper Works in the 1700s. Idyllically situated on the eastern side of Lake Femund, it is the last settlement without road access around the lake and lies on the doorstep of Femundsmarka National Park. This remote and traditional outpost serves outdoor enthusiasts and anglers, offering simple cabins and wilderness shelters for an authentic nature experience.

Haugen is the perfect starting point for adventures in Femundsmarka, offering authentic cabins and wilderness shelters both near the farm and within the national park. The accommodations are designed for self-catering and provide simple yet comfortable facilities, ideal for those seeking adventure or serenity.

Femundsmarka offers fantastic opportunities for fishing in crystal-clear waters, hiking through untouched landscapes, or simply enjoying the tranquility and stunning views. In winter, you can experience a snow-covered wilderness perfect for off-track skiing, ice fishing, or a peaceful snowshoe walk through the forest.

Haugen brings you closer to nature, whether you want to explore the area alone or with family and friends. Here, you can unwind, disconnect from everyday life, and create unforgettable memories in one of Norway’s most unique wilderness destinations.
