The Moose Bike Trail is a long-distance cycling route from Rena in the south, running through Østerdalen all the way to Røros in the north.The route covers approximately 325 km and takes you through forests, river landscapes and mountain areas, mostly on quiet gravel roads.
The Moose Bike Trail is open and free for everyone to enjoy. You can easily adapt the route to your level by choosing shorter stages or specific sections. If your goals is to cycle the full 325 km route, you should be in good physical shape, as some stages can be moderately demanding.
Due to the high percentage of gravel roads, a bike with thicker and wider tyres is recommended to avoid punctures and ensure a comfortable ride. Gravel bikes, mountain bikes (MTB) or hardtail bikes are all excellent choices for this route.
