About
TronTalks is a festival for those in search of new ideas and meaningful conversations.
The festival takes its name from Mount Tron, the cornerstone of the Nord-Østerdal region. It takes place every autumn and has become a nationally recognized event, bringing together people from near and far.
At TronTalks, we explore what it means to live in the 2020s.
Contributors such as Thomas Hylland Eriksen, Ane Dahl Torp, Tommy Olsson, Lars Lillo-Stenberg, Lena Lindgren, Henrik Syse, Einar Øverenget, Maja Lunde, Kari Steihaug, Tore Vagn Lid, and Maja Ratkje have shared thoughtful perspectives, art, and new music.
TronTalks builds on the countercultural traditions of Nord-Østerdal, rooted in the intellectual environment surrounding Arne and Hulda Garborg in the late 19th century. The village of Alvdal and Mount Tron inspired figures such as painter Harriet Backer, anarchist Ivar Mortensson-Egnund, the Indian philosopher Baral, humorist Kjell Aukrust, author Arne Garborg, and nation builder Hulda Garborg to pursue free thinking and help shape Norwegian culture.
