About
TronTalks is the festival for those seeking new ideas and meaningful conversations. The festival takes its name from Tron, the cornerstone of the Nord-Østerdal region. Held every autumn, it has become a national talking point, bringing together people from near and far.
At TronTalks, we explore what it means to live in the 2020s.
Speakers and performers have included Thomas Hylland Eriksen, Ane Dahl Torp, Tommy Olsson, Lars Lillo-Stenberg, Lena Lindgren, Henrik Syse, Einar Øverenget, Maja Lunde, and Maja Ratkje, sharing thought-provoking ideas and new music.
TronTalks is an extension of the Nord-Østerdal counterculture that emerged around Arne Garborg and Hulda Garborg in the late 19th century. Alvdal and Tron are known for having inspired figures such as the writer Arne Garborg, nation-builder Hulda Garborg, painter Harriet Backer, anarchist Ivar Mortensson-Egnund, the Indian philosopher Baral, and humorist Kjell Aukrust to think freely, create boldly, and speak their minds.
