Visit Røros and Østerdalen stretches from Nord-Østerdalen in Innlandet county to the southernmost part of Trøndelag county and also borders on Sweden. The Forollhogna and Femundsmarka National Parks surround one of Norway’s most exciting areas of natural and cultural history.
Days of Cold and Bright Polar Nights
In the Røros region, the snow settles like a thin blanket over forests and mountains in November. Before all the Christmas lights are lit in December, we have nature's own white magic that shines a light for us, and then we're in the bright polar nights.
After Christmas we have days of cold and clean colours, clear nights with starry skies and squeaky snow. Open plains and mountains with powdery snow, icy water and trees clad in a veil of frost. Follow the ski slopes into this wonderland or create your own path into the wilderness where the big fish lurk underwater. A romantic stroll concluded with a piping hot cup of cocoa is another little adventure. Winter is a most beautiful season. Fill it with adventure and feel alive.
