Tolga is the most southerly municipality in the region and was the site of one of the most important of Røros Copperworks’ smelting works.
Here, too, a modern agricultural community developed early on. The village of Vingelen has a wealth of well-preserved wooden houses and buildings – 30 old farms spread out over a south-facing hillside. Dølmotunet is a living farm museum with activities for the whole family.
You can also explore the lakes of Hodalsjøene and the Holavassdraget river by canoe, or view the summer farm pastures from the vantage point of a bicycle seat.
